Downloading Music

The AT&T a2b music Player plays compressed audio files in a2b music song format only. These audio files can contain from a single song to the contents of an entire CD. When you purchase or sample digital music from the a2b music Store you choose your custom contents.

Important Note:
For this initial offering, the a2b music Store is offering single songs only.
You can visit our a2b music Store to browse our selection of digital music albums and make your order, or you can visit the website of an a2b music partner. Once you order your music, your order is verified and the file containing your music is automatically downloaded to your PC and stored in your default song directory.

In reality, a number of operations occur between your song order and its subsequent download. If you're interested in more details, surf to our About Page on our web site for all the gory details. If you're experiencing troubles downloading digital songs from our site, we suggest that you surf to our Troubleshooting Page on the web. Locally, here is some abbreviated troubleshooting advice, broken down into five areas.

If you're still having problems downloading music, please send email to a2b music help and we'll respond promptly.

Browser Errors

Select More Info/Pick App/Save File/Cancel:
If you did not first download and then install the a2b music player, then you cannot download songs. Part of the install app a2b_101.exe reconfigures your browser so the proper application is selected upon song download.

If you have installed the player, then it's probable that your browser does not meet the a2b music minimum PC requirements. If that is the case, then you can upgrade your browser by visiting one of these web sites: You'll have to re-run a2b_101.exe after upgrading your browser.
Unknown Filetype encountered:
If your browser is Netscape and you did not close it during the a2b_101.exe installation, then simply close it and re-open it so that Netscape resets its environment. (Internet Explorer does this automatically.)

Network Errors

Song download hangs or Error retreiving keys:
If your browser is Netscape 3.1 or higher (else you must first upgrade) and you have configured it for a proxy server then it's probable that your Internet settings conflict with those of Netscape. You can examine your Internet proxy settings using the a2b music Player menu: Options->Preferences
